Adapter

Installation Instructions for Volvo B16 Spin-On Filter Conversion Kit.  call: 217 246 0884 if  you have any questions.


1.  Drain oil and remove old filter canister.


2.  Remove old "O" Ring from resess in block, do not damage groove. Remove sheet metal baffle (will not be used).


3.  Be sure every area in block cavity is super clean as any thing allowed to remain will go right to engine bearings.


4.  Thread center bolt into block (be sure to have cleaned threads in block to bottom of hole).


5.  Two 3/4" x 16 tpi nuts tightened together will give you the ability to tighten center bolt.


6.  Torque to no more than 20 ft/lbs, Remove jam nuts with wrench and socket as shown in photo #4.



7.  Lube "O" ring and thread on inner cap, be carefull not to crossthread. Tighten at least 1/3rd turn to 1/2 turn maximum after cover contacts "O" ring in block. Chose any tools carefully so as to not damage parts. Put 2 or 3 drops of Locktite 242 on thread at inner cap so it can soak into cap threads, do not put Locktite on exposed threads.

8.  Lube and install large square cut "O" Ring in block with care. Coat sealing area of cover and screw onto threads, be carefull not to crossthread.  (Using our pin wrench or other pin wrench that will not cause any damage to outer cover). Tighten at least 1/3rd turn to 1/2 turn maximum after cover contacts "O" ring in block. Do not use Locktite on these threads.


9.  Be sure to install Starter if you have it off as it will not clear the Spin-On Filter but should clear adapter (it will be close). Install filter and change oil (best to remove spark plugs and spin engine over until oil pressure is aquired before starting engine).
Be sure to check for leaks after start up and several times after that.
